The Chambers model was developed and played for Reynolds by James Chambers. Chambers was the solo horn of the New York Philharmonic from 1946-1969.The Chambers Contempora French Horn is a Vintage instrument made by Reynolds in the 1950's. My understanding is that after some time in development...Chambers indorsed the Reynolds in 1958. I played this horn my last 2 years in high school, throughout college, six-year years in the Army bands, and various band and orchestra stints. My high school band instructor purchased this horn from a member of the Chicago Businessmen's orchestra with the intention of selling it to me. I was told it was one of the five original horns that Chambers had made for his horn section mates but I don't have 1st hand knowledge of that. This is my personal instrument, so I have first-hand knowledge of its beautiful French Horn tone.This horn comes in the original case with the F. A. Reynolds, Cleveland, Ohio insignia (in good condition) and Vincent Bach 12 mouthpiece (like new).Please note I have tried to be open about this horn's attributes and flaws. I have attempted to show the horn from different angles so that you can be your own judge of the horn's condition.
